Thank to Felicity Dawes for the report

A depleted joint team of athletes from  Banbury Harriers and Bicester AC made the journey northwards up to Tamworth for the first UK Youth Development League Meeting for the Under-17 and Y20 age groups on Saturday 18 April.  Despite only taking 12 athletes some strong early season performances led to them coming away with third place in the meeting.

Rebecca Scott led the way for the Under-17s ladies with wins in both the high and long jumps, the latter with a new PB of 4.83m. Helen Dubber dominated the 80m Hurdles winning in a new PB and Abbey Anson looked strong with second places in the 100m, 200m and Shot put, similarly Jess Lay was 2nd in the Hammer, Triple Jump and Discus.

In the Under-17 men Michael Dawes launched the Discus out to a new PB of 32.95m to win. While Jake Stickley made a promising debate in the Javelin gaining second place and Charley Kaemena, in his first competition, was second in the B string 800m. Alfie Rowett was 2nd and 3rd for the Under-20s in the 100m and 200m.
