Report on the first home event

RESULTS ARE HERE

The first round of the Lower Age Group YDL took place at Banbury on Saturday producing some promising results from our younger Harriers.

In the under-15 boys Angus Pollock ran an excellent 1500m in 5.04.6 to finish 4th in the A-string despite being in the lower year and Kit Duggan won the 1500m B-string in a time of 5.18.7. In the field Oskar Moyaert came second in the A-string Javelin with a throw of 21.09 and Stanley Bull won the B-string, also with a throw of 21.09! In the High Jump Kit Duggan produced a good effort of 1.30m to finish 3rd A-string before a strong team of Ben Shawcross, Stanley Bull, Kit Duggan and Oskar Moyaert comfortably won the 4x300m relay.

In the under-13 boys Jordan Broersma broke 15 seconds in the 100m A-string finishing 3rd in 14.9 seconds. Archie Jones took silver in the B-string in a time of 15.5. Broersma was then just pushed into second place in the A-string 200m finishing 0.1 of a second behind the winner in a time of 30.6 but should be pleased with 2 excellent sprints.  Archie Jones took 3rd place in the A-string 800m in 2.54 before Henry Pollock took victory in the 1500m running home in 5.16.5. In the 75m Hurdle Christopher Charles stormed home in first place with a time of 13.7 before comfortably winning the shot by over 1m with a putt of 7.48m. In the Long jump Jordan Broersma finished 3rd just 1cm behind 2nd place with an excellent jump of 3.85m.

In the under-15 girls Maddison Cooper ran well for 5th in the 100m A-string in 15.1 and Emilina Darvell was 3rd B-string in 15.4. Maia Cook ran well in both 200m and 300m B-string races finishing 3rd and 5th respectively and Sydney Sellers had an excellent 75m hurdles to finish 2nd A-string in 13.5 seconds. Sarah-Louise Bennet also ran well in 14.1 to take victory in the B-string. In the field Elizabeth Eskender threw well to finish 3rd in the Javelin with a throw of 16.34, 5th in the discus and 2nd in the Hammer with 15.30m. Emilina  Darvell was 3rd in the shot with 6.99 and also 3rd in the long jump with 4.01.

In the under-13 girls Raegan Sellers was just pushed into second place by 0.1 seconds in the 100m B-string finishing 2nd in 11.4 and Maddy Dowden ran well in the A-string for 5th place. Sophie Howie had a good 150m finishing 2nd B-string in 24.9 before Elizabeth Anferson produced a 4th place finish in the 800m running 2.58.6. In the 70m hurdles A-string Tegan Armstrong won comfortably in 12.5 with Maddy Dowden 2nd B-string in 13.5. In the javelin Nikola Bishop had an excellent throw of 17.77 for 3rd place and Lucy Thompson produced a good shot putt for 4th place with 5.60m. Tegan Armstrong and Elizabeth Anferson were both 2nd in the long jump competitions, A and B-string respectively. Tegan then won the high jump with 1.35m and a strong team of Dowden, Sellers, Howie and Armstrong won the 4x100m relay.
