3rd meeting at Dudley on 3rd July

The penultimate Midland League event took place in Dudley on Sunday, where Banbury Harriers U17, U20 & Senior athletes were in action.

Rebecca Scott and Sophia Daenen got the day underway in the Long Jump, with performances of 4.85m and 4.31m respectively, both also in action in the 200m with times of 27.3s and 30.0s. Abby Anson’s final race before heading off to English Schools, saw her in 1st place with a time of 12.6s in the 100m. Paige Cooper produced a great throw in the Shot Put, with a PB of 7.67m.

Alfie Rowett got the men of to a flying start in the sprints, with a time of 10.9s in the 100m, and 21.9s in the 200m, seeing Ollie Sprio following with times of 11.5s and 23.0s. The men's non-scoring 100m was a great race with Sam Hook, Dan Houchen, Tom Wain and Felix Noble all in contention, finishing in that order, with times of 11.4s, 11.5s, 11.6s and 11.8s. Sam Hook was also in action in the Long Jump and Shot Put, with performances of 6.09m and 9.94m respectively.

Bert Rowett gained a PB with 159.3 in the 800m then 53.2 in the 400m.

 

The Men’s 4x100m relay team, consisting of Dan Houchen, Alfie Rowett, Sam Hook and Ollie Sprio, came away with a great time of 44.5s, taking 1st place.
